Hope, Strength, and Support – Because Cancer Won’t Define Us.
Cancer is a Bully (R) is a Birmingham, AL-based non-profit established to honor the legacy of founder Mary Walton's mother. The inclination toward and commitment to cancer research her mother carried lives on through scholarships provided to students concentrating on STEM-focused fields and attending HBCUs.

A Lasting Legacy.
Our mission is to support and advance cancer research in honor of the incredible legacy of Barbara Robinson, a dedicated research scientist whose lifelong work made a profound impact on the fight against cancer. Through her groundbreaking research, Barbara's passion for discovery and her commitment to improving the lives of others inspired those around her. We are dedicated to continuing her work by funding innovative research, supporting the next generation of scientists, and raising awareness about the importance of cancer research. Together, we can honor her legacy by helping to find new treatments, cures, and ultimately a world where cancer no longer takes lives.

The Legacy Continues.
In honor of the transformative power of education and the pursuit of scientific discovery, we are proud to offer scholarships to high school and college students passionate about STEM and cancer research. These scholarships are designed to support the next generation of scientists, researchers, and innovators who are dedicated to making a difference in the fight against cancer. By investing in young talent, we aim to inspire and empower students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with a focus on cancer research. We believe that the breakthroughs of tomorrow will come from the minds of today, and we are committed to helping these future leaders access the resources, opportunities, and education they need to drive meaningful change in the world of cancer research.
Stand Up to Cancer.
Together, we can make a powerful impact in the fight against cancer. By supporting cancer research through donations and education, you can help accelerate breakthroughs that bring us closer to finding cures and improving patient outcomes. Every contribution—whether financial or through sharing knowledge—moves us one step forward in the battle. Donations fund critical research, empower scientists, and bring us closer to a world where cancer no longer claims lives. Education, on the other hand, helps raise awareness, encourages advocacy, and inspires others to join the cause. Stand up to cancer today by contributing in ways that matter—because together, we can create a future where cancer is no longer a threat.

Our vision is a world where cancer no longer takes lives or creates lasting fear. Through my personal commitment to supporting cancer research, I aim to help accelerate discoveries that lead to better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and ultimately, cures. I believe in a future where the fight against cancer is won—not just in the lab, but in the lives of patients and families affected by the disease. With each step forward in research, we move closer to a world where cancer no longer holds power over us. Together, we can create a future of hope, healing, and a life without cancer’s shadow.

Barbara Robinson’s work as a research scientist was driven by a deep compassion for those affected by cancer.
